The process of submitting a WULA is lengthy and requires the submission of technical documents and reports, as well as specialist studies as determined by the DWS and depending on which water uses are triggered. Under normal circumstances, the submission of a WULA can take anything between three to six months (but can take longer as determined by various factors).
Our guidance and assistance can make a frustrating process run smoother.
This is required to determine how much water is needed per hectare per quaternary catchment. Based on this, specialist reports needs to be done.
Should water be abstracted from a river, a hydrology report is needed to determine the reserve available. Should water be abstracted from a borehole, a geo hydrological report is needed.
To support these reports we need to submit a water resource, water use report, brief description, Section 21 report, where we confirm we help the past racial discrimination population, dam design and method statement, should we apply for building of a dam, master layout plan to name just a few.
If you are going to abstract water from a source such as a dam, river and/or a borehole, you need to submit drawings and technicalities from specialists. Explanations will be required on how it will work. Our dedicated team can assist with these requirements for the application.
If you are going to use storage and irrigation systems you need to submit drawings and technicalities from specialists. Explanations will be required on how it will work. Our experienced team can assist with these requirements for the application.
During Phase 2 of the application, DWS visits the farm to determine what relevant studies are required that needs to be done. Where river abstraction is involved we do Aquatic and Bio diversity studies. If there is wetlands, EIA studies is done. Section 21 G is also determined - this has to do with septic or French drains. All the water uses as submitted on the Ewuula system is confirmed.
Then Phase 3 is open to submit the specialist studies and to complete all the DW Forms with the technical specifications of the irrigation systems, crops planted, confirmation of the application name, pumps specifications, dam specifications, etc.
