What is DAMFIX?

DAMFIX offers a swift and efficient solution for sealing earth dams and ponds. This granular polymer product effectively plugs leaks without the need to drain your water, making it the ideal choice for preserving your valuable water resources.

Our fantastic earth dam sealant is ideally applied to dams that already contain water. The hydraulic action of leaking water is necessary for the dam sealer to enter cracks and pores in the dam's surfaces.

The polymer is drawn into cracks and holes, expanding rapidly to seal leaks and gaps.

Made in South Africa, this proprietary blend of natural and synthetic polymers effectively seals leaks without disrupting the natural environment in dams and ponds.

How DAMFIX works

DAMFIX is a unique super-absorbent polymer powder blend, formulated to seal earth dams. Applied to the water surface, the polymer works to seal the base and walls of the dam or pond. The particles begin to hydrate and expand (into a gel) on contact with water and descend to the bottom of the dam.

The weight of the water (hydrostatic pressure) and flow of water through the leak, forces the particles into the cracks and voids, where the polymer particles continue to expand and bind with the soil.

DAMFIX create an effective plug to stop the leaks in earth dams. When applied correctly you can achieve a permanent seal in one application.

STEP 1

Observations indicate that your earth dam is losing water. Possible reasons for leakage include porous soil structure, very little or no clay content present, lack of compaction, incorrect construction methods, or old root systems creating channels.

STEP 2

To seal the leak, apply DAMFIX evenly to the water surface of the dam. Optimised results are best achieved when spreading evenly while making use of a boat. You will notice that the polymers will be drawn downwards as it carries a heavy positive charge.

STEP 3

The polymers begin to hydrate, expanding on contact with water. They descend to the bottom of the dam, creating a gel.

The hydrostatic pressure forces the polymers into the porous areas where water is seeping through.

STEP 4

The polymers continue to link and expand rapidly up to 400 times over 7 to 14 days, creating an effective plug to stop the leaks. It binds with soil & clay particles.

Natural processes resume with the formation of clay and silt.
